The MG Cyberster's Electric Motors Produce An Incredible 536 Horsepower
by AutoExpert | 29 August, 2023
Earlier this year, MG took the wraps off the exciting all-electric MG Cyberster, and now at the Chengdu Motor Show, car enthusiasts have been treated to more juicy technical details. Under the hood, there's a beefy 77 kWh battery that's rumored to provide a pretty impressive range of 360 miles on the CLTC cycle.
The electric MG Cyberster doesn't disappoint. With a dynamic duo of electric motors, it's pushing out a robust 536 horsepower and a hefty 535 lb-ft of torque. Although we were initially teased with the possibility of a sub-three-second 0 to 60 mph sprint, the real deal is a still-respectable 3.2 seconds.
In terms of its physical footprint, the MG Cyberster is a touch larger than the popular Mazda MX-5 Miata, stretching out to 178.5 inches in length and 75.3 inches in width. The substantial battery pack means the Cyberster isn't exactly a featherweight, tipping the scales at 4,079 lbs.
However, there's optimism that the rear-wheel-drive single-motor version, armed with a more compact 64 kWh battery, will shed some pounds.
Once inside, you'll find an opulent interior with gorgeous leather accents and a sizable infotainment screen. The interior design doesn't just follow the norm; it's built around the driver. The center console and dashboard have a cool slant toward the driver's side, embracing that driver-centric vibe. The showstopper here are those scissor doors that add a dash of flair to an already captivating package.
There's no official word on whether the Cyberster will make its way across the pond just yet. Fingers crossed!
