The jury of the European competition Car of the Year decided the seven finalist cars of the 2014 edition. With a special of segments, concepts and engines, the European Car of the Year (COTY) 2014 announces an exciting competition with a winner too difficult to guess even of the circumspect eyes of auto journalists.
Thus, in the final competition remained three compact models, but of different concepts (Mazda3, Peugeot 308 and Skoda Octavia), a compact MPV (Citroen C4 Picasso), a luxury sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Klasse) and two electro cars also very different: THE BMW i3 and the S Tesla Model.
No less interesting than the finalist list are those of the eliminated models by this stage of the competition. We're talking about big names of the industry and of automobiles that attracted much attention from the public, such as the BMW X5, Toyota Auris and Corolla, Seat Leon, Renault Captur, Range Rover Sport, Mercedes-Benz CLA, Lexus IS, Jaguar F-Type, Hyundai i10 and Ford Kuga.
The winner of the COTY 2014 contest will be announced in March, at the Geneva Motor Show.
