Plus, pedestrians wouldn't have to worry as much – automatic emergency braking with fancy pedestrian detection could stop over a thousand crashes with people on foot each year. Big win for everyone!

Well, there's some good news: some features are already available on some models, things like forward collision warning and blind spot monitoring. But it seems like these features are just fancy add-ons, not standard equipment. Not cool, dude.
