The First 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Sells At Auction For $3.6 Million

Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C8 is unquestionably a desirable sports vehicle. But do you know how much the first one costs? It appears to be worth $3.6 million, as it sold for that amount at last week's Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction.
The automobile is projected to start at under $100,000, so that's a lot of money, but the good news is that all that money will go to Operation Homefront, a nonprofit that helps military families. Rick Hendrick, the buyer of the 70th Anniversary Edition automobile, is the same man who paid $3 million for the first C8 Corvette in 2020. Hendrick has now smashed the record for the most costly charity car donated by a manufacturer at Barrett-Jackson, which he established two years ago.
John I. Pray Jr., president and CEO of Operation Homefront, stated: "We are deeply grateful to our friends at Chevrolet and Barrett-Jackson for choosing Operation Homefront as the beneficiary of this incredible auction."
He went on to say that the money from the sale of this incredible Corvette Z06 will go a long way toward assisting their military families in overcoming financial problems and thriving in the places they've worked so hard to protect.
"It’s truly a privilege to support our military members and their families through Operation Homefront. Proceeds from the first retail 2023 Corvette Z06 will benefit many U.S. military families across the country who have done so much to serve our country," said Steve Hill, Vice President of Chevrolet.
