The 2023 Genesis G90 Will Be Available In The US With A 420-HP Mild-Hybrid V6

Genesis has just announced that the G90 will be offered in the United States with a hybrid version of the 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 420 horsepower. This engine was initially intended for the long-wheelbase G90, which will not be available in the United States, but it will be available for the standard 2023 Genesis G90 as well.
The 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine with twin turbochargers and an electronic supercharger will power the Korean luxury sedan. The 48-volt mild-hybrid system will be made up of an electric motor/generator and a 9.8 kWh lithium-ion battery.
The overall output will be 420 horsepower, which is a significant improvement over the non-hybrid V6's 375 horsepower. The engine is rated at 20 mph instead of 21 mph by the EPA. Power is sent to all four wheels in both cases via an eight-speed automatic transmission and Genesis' all-wheel-drive system.
The higher output puts the Genesis G90 on par with the Mercedes-Benz S500 mild hybrid, which produces 429 hp. The 2023 Genesis G90's US-spec range will be revealed in the coming months, along with pricing and performance information for both drivetrains.
