SSC Tuatara has an engine ready for production. Its creators, those from the SSC North America, say they have completed the tests of prototypes that prefigure series motorization, twin-turbo V8 unit being ready for the production. 6.9-liter engine develops 1.350 HP and 1.733 Nm using the fuel with an octane number of 91 (the equivalent figure 98 according to the European standards). Those from the SSC say that the motorization could even develop over 1.700 HP.
The American company promises that the model will be able to pass without the problems from the circuit to the street and back, eliminating the need for some additional adjustments or other changes. This statement would emphasize the expertise behind this supercar, in an attempt to demonstrate the reliability compared to other models over 1.000 HP.
SSC engineers say they have tested the engine at speeds up to 442 kmph in the laboratory, without the last having to present any technical problem.
