A Chinese tech giant named Skywell has recently revealed an extraordinary electric sedan, slated for production next year. In a market flooded with electric vehicles from China, Skywell's creation, named Skyhome, manages to stand out with a range of innovative features.
Produced under Skywell's automotive division, Skyworth, the Skyhome concept is reported to be 90% representative of the eventual production model. It is expected to hit the market with a price tag ranging between 220,000 and 250,000 yuan, or approximately $31,000 to $35,000 at current exchange rates.
The sleek exterior design of the Skyworth Skyhome concept catches the eye, deviating from the sharp edges prevalent in many modern cars. It features a curvaceous front fascia with LED headlights, an LED light bar, digital wing mirrors, flush door handles, and a panoramic glass roof. The cabin, however, steals the spotlight with its distinctive features. A massive curved screen on the dashboard integrates the gauge cluster, infotainment display, and passenger-facing screen.
The concept boasts a unique yoke-style steering wheel, intricate ambient lighting, and a diverse range of materials. Rear-seat passengers are treated to a tech-laden experience with a large flexible screen that descends from the ceiling, a refrigerator in the rear center console, screens on the rear of the front headrests, and tray tables. To add to the luxury, the rear seats can be reclined into a sleeping position with a foot massage function, creating a mobile private jet experience.
Skyworth plans to offer both two- and all-wheel-drive versions of the Skyhome. The flagship model should accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds thanks to a pair of electric motors that produce 617 hp. Equipped with air suspension and rear-axle steering, the Skyhome combines power and advanced driving features. While the production-ready version's unveiling date remains uncertain, the Skyhome's unique design and features aim to carve a distinctive niche in the competitive electric vehicle market.
