by AutoExpert | 30 November, 2021
The Czech manufacturer has released the first images and details about the Karoq makeover. The SUV has a slightly updated design, cutting-edge technology, and more fuel-efficient engines. The slimmer headlights and reworked taillights are the most visible improvements on the Skoda Karoq's exterior. Matrix LED technology, by the way, is currently available.
For the facelifted Skoda Karoq, the company provides four trim levels: Active, Ambition, Style, and Sportline. The latter is powered by a 2.0-liter capacity engine producing 190 hp. This is paired with an all-wheel-drive system and a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
Officials have given five conventional engine options: three petrol options and two diesel choices. The petrol engines are 1.0-liter (110 hp and 200 Nm), 1.5-liter (150 hp and 250 Nm), and 2.0-liter (190 hp and 320 Nm). Diesel engines with the same 2.0-liter capacity will be available, but with differing stats: 116 hp/250 Nm, and 150 hp/360 Nm. Customers will be able to choose between a manual transmission and a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.
On the interior, the company offers an Eco package made of recycled and environmentally friendly materials. The instrument cluster is digital, with a display size of 8 or 10.25 inches. A cutting-edge infotainment system with a 6.5-inch screen is also included. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also offered. In addition, safety aid technologies have been improved for individuals' safety. There will now be up to nine-passenger airbags available on the facelifted Skoda Karoq.
Based on sales in 2020 and the first half of 2021, the Karoq is the best-selling SUV in Skoda's lineup and the Czechs' second most popular car internationally, after the Octavia.
