Revamped Ford Transit Custom: A Stylish Edge from Motion R
by AutoExpert | 12 December, 2023
In a bold move that distinguishes itself from the typical delivery van, UK tuner Motion R has reinvented the Ford Transit Custom with a sporty twist. Hot on the heels of Ford's unveiling of the new generation of this popular medium-sized van, Motion R has stepped in to meet the rising demand for stylish light commercial vehicles (LCV).
The centerpiece of this transformation is the exterior, which now sports a carbon fiber body kit, giving the Transit Custom a distinct edge.
The front end is notably enhanced with a Mustang-inspired slimmer grille, enlarged bumper intakes, and an eye-catching splitter. The side profile is just as striking, featuring aerodynamic skirts and a set of 20-inch forged monoblock alloy wheels, each wrapped in performance tires.
But the makeover doesn't stop there. Inside, the Transit Custom gets an upgrade with Nappa leather and Alcantara upholstery, complete with contrasting stitching. The steering wheel is reimagined with perforated leather and carbon fiber, complementing the carbon inserts on the dashboard and door cards.
For those looking for something extra special, Motion R has unveiled the MC Edition, limited to just 50 units. This edition includes forged carbon elements on various exterior parts, such as the grille garnish, splitter, rear spoiler, and diffuser. The interior also features exclusive badging and practical storage solutions for adventure gear like surfboards and wetsuits.
Underneath the stylish modifications, the engine remains the trusty 2.0-liter EcoBlue turbodiesel, maintaining its factory power of 168 hp. However, these upgrades could potentially be applied to all Transit Custom models, including those with PHEV and BEV powertrains.
On Motion R's website, three diesel-powered Ford Transit Custom MC Edition vans are listed, with prices ranging from £59,795 ($74,995) to £64,795 ($81,265). This marks a significant upscale from the base Transit Custom Combi, which starts at £35,905 in the UK.
