Harrop Engineering Boosts Suzuki Jimny's Power With New Supercharger Kit

Harrop Engineering, an Australian tuning company, has rolled out a supercharger kit for the Suzuki Jimny’s 1.5-liter engine, and it’s definitely going to grab the attention. The kit is designed for Jimny owners who want to make their 4x4s even more capable, and it works for both the three-door and five-door versions.
In its stock form, the Jimny’s 1.5-liter engine makes 101 hp (75 kW) and 130 Nm (96 lb-ft) of torque. Harrop’s supercharger kit bumps those numbers up to 134 hp (100 kW) and 149 Nm (110 lb-ft) of torque.
This upgrade is made possible by the TVS900 supercharger, along with a reprogrammed ECU, a water-to-air intercooler, a custom carbon-fiber airbox with a 2.5-inch inlet, and a bypass valve that improves fuel efficiency at lower RPMs. For those looking to get even more out of the kit, adding a snorkel for cold-air induction and an aftermarket exhaust can push the power up to 142 hp (106 kW) and 168 Nm (124 lb-ft) of torque, according to dyno tests.
However, if you’ve got the five-speed manual, you might need to make additional changes to handle the increased torque. At AU$ 10,990 (US$ 6,900), it’s a bit pricey. The Jimny’s base price in Australia is AU$ 34,990 (US$ 21,900).
