Raptor Japan Is Nothing More Than A Toyota RAV4 With A Protective Coating
by AutoExpert | 27 January, 2022
This Raptor Japan, which appeared at the Tokyo Auto Salon, is unlike anything you've seen before, as it's built on the fourth-generation Toyota RAV4. The business that came up with the idea is called Raptor, and it specializes in protective coatings.
Raptor Japan was built to demonstrate the longevity of its urethane paint liner. The whole body is coated in a rough-textured gray paint that prevents it from rust and scratches while off-roading. This includes not just the bodywork but also the plastic components such as bumpers, fenders, mirror covers, pillars, and so on.
The RAV4 also received unique artwork on the sides that resembled scars from an actual Raptor dinosaur, as well as Raptor decals on the hood and back skid plate. Aside from the attractive paint, the RAV4 received a new set of KMC wheels with Monsta Mud Warrior tires, as well as a 2-inch suspension lift.
Under the hood, the original 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine develops 169 hp (126 kW / 171 PS) and 203 Nm (150 lb-ft) of torque and is paired to a CVT gearbox. Raptor Japan isn't for sale, but the protective coating can be applied to any car.
