Next-Gen BMW M4 GT4 Customer Race Car Has Been Teased
by AutoExpert | 26 November, 2021
Next year, BMW will begin selling the 2022 M4 GT4 to customers. Of course, the new race vehicle is built on the street-legal G82-generation BMW M4. It will be the successor to the F82-generation M4 GT4 introduced in 2017.
The only teaser image published by BMW M Design displays a swan-neck rear wing, which is substantially different from the one on the outgoing car. The race vehicle also sports quad tailpipes, a noticeable rear diffuser, enlarged side skirts, and a redesigned front fascia with an aerodynamic splitter and carbon fiber canards, as well as swelling arches.
The new M4 GT4 will be driven by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, just like the road vehicle. However, the M4 GT4's motor will be detuned to meet the racing rules, whilst the street-legal variant puts out 503 horsepower in the M4 Competition spec.
The M4 GT4's interior will be drastically different from the ordinary M4, with a complete roll cage, a set of racing bucket seats, and all essential safety and regulatory features. Information on pricing and availability has yet to be released.
