New BMW Alpina B5 GT Has A Terrible 634 Horsepower
by AutoExpert | 25 January, 2023
The BMW Alpina B5 GT is the company's newest, strictly-limited-production tuned BMW. The B5 GT has Alpina's most powerful engine, and it comes in sedan and wagon body styles.
BMW's twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 powers the modified B5 GT, which produces 634 horsepower and 626 pound-feet of torque. The engine software and boost pressure were updated, and a new air intake duck and silencer were installed by Alpina to improve airflow.
The engine's power is increased by 13 hp and 36 lb-ft compared to its factory settings. The modified 5 Series car has a peak speed of 205 mph and can reach 62 mph in less than 3.4 seconds. The station wagon can reach speeds of almost 200 miles per hour and finish the 0-62 mph sprint in less than 3.6 seconds.
All B5 GTs from Alpina come standard with Marron Volciano-finished versions of their 20-inch, 20-spoke Classic wheel design. The B5 GT from Alpina will be available in the company's signature blue and green. Arctic Race Blue, Petrol Mica, Verde British Racing, Chalk, Imola Red, and Daytona Violet are just some of the six specialty colors the tuner will offer.
Nappa leather is standard inside, while full Merino leather and various interior enhancements like Alpina's Walnut Anthracite fine wood trim are also available. BMW Alpina B5 GT preorders may be placed now, with deliveries starting in July. The base price of the sedan is 145,500 euros ($157,889), while the wagon begins at 148,500 euros ($161,144). Prices reflect the German market and are inclusive of the 19% VAT.
