NASCAR Retro on labor day at the Darlington Raceway with the running of the Southern 500.

The last time the Southern 500 ran on Labor day at Darlington was in 2003. NBC Sports will air the race on Labor Day with a retro 1970's theme.
The track will have retro paint schemes from the era, even the broadcast booth will be recreated as it was then including announcers wearing '70s clothing and hairstyles.
The normal announcers will be replaced by Hall of Famers Ken Squier, Ned Jarrett, and Dale Jarrett. The day will be not only the Southern 500 but also a celebration of NASCAR history with cars painted in the color schemes of the era and historical information about the drivers of the time. NASCAR will take this opportunity to educate younger fans about how it was in "the good old days" of NASCAR racing.
