Mercedes-Benz Unveils G-Class 'Stronger Than Diamonds Edition' for Ultimate Luxury

Valentine's Day has passed, but it's never too late for a gift. Especially if it's a Mercedes-Benz G Class “Stronger Than Diamonds Edition”.
Let's face it, nothing says “I love you” as beautifully as a four-wheeled-house adorned with 25-carat diamonds. The new G-Class model is limited to a mere 300 units because we would not want to exaggerate with such an extravagance.
Mercedes claims they chose the Big G for its “resilience and unparalleled endurance,” because durable love is now measured in horsepower and off-road capacities.
The diamond-themed off-roader is veiled in rosewood gray magno, a custom-made color developed exclusively for this special edition by the one and only Manufaktur.
Overall, the piece de resistance is the incrusting of 25-carat diamonds that adorn all four stainless steel door locking pins. Mercedes will offer owners a Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) certificate that provides information regarding diamonds in the G-Wagen that originate from socially, ethically, and ecologically responsible sources.
While we let the gleam of the shiny rock, the black nappa leather with rose-contrasting stitching waits inside. The “Stronger Than Diamonds” badges took over the passenger grab handle and the illuminated sills - while the deep-pile floor mats will ensure your feet's comfort.
The key has a silver badge with the edition’s nameplate on it around a diamond insignia. Last but not least, the SUV comes with a matching indoor car cover—to stand out among G-Class units in your collection.
Interestingly, the model is based more on the Mercedes-Benz G500 than on the AMG G63. However, the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine produces 420 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. The power is transported to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic gearbox.
Each of the Mercedes G-Class “Stronger Than Diamonds Edition” 300 units comes with a hefty price of 187.800 USD in Germany, making it a generous “token of love”.
As a perspective, the standard G500 starts at 140.000 USD on the same market, meaning the Manufaktur treatment added 48.300 USD to the price.
Worth noting: Mercedes is not far from unveiling its facelifted G-Class version, the debut being expected in the first quarter of 2024.
