Mercedes-Benz plans to release a rival for Audi A7 and Porsche Panamera

Mercedes-Benz continues to attack the auto market with new models oriented to compete with its rivals in the segments where Germans were not present for a long time. So, after we witnessed the launch of the new GLE Sport Coupe who claims a niche occupied by BMW X6 and GLC Sport Coupe to fight with X4, the time has come for a new model scheduled to shrink the market share of Audi and Porsche.
According to Autobild, the car will use the new CLS platform combined with design features from Mercedes-Benz AMG GT. And to distance itself from its CLS counterpart, GT4 will provide space for only four passengers comfortably seated in individual seats, as we have seen in the Audi Prologueor Volkswagen GTE C Coupe.
Unlike its competitors, Mercedes-Benz GT4 will be offered with only one engine option, a 4.0 liter V8, performance available in two versions of 500 or 600 HP. The four-door coupe will benefit from an efficient braking system and sports suspension derived from the E63 AMG S model, which tells us that GT4 could be an all-wheel-drive model.
So far, this project is in the research stage, but if it gets the green light, the new Mercedes-Benz GT4 will debut on the market no earlier than 2019 with a starting price of 120,000 - 140,000 euros!
