Mercedes-Benz Ciento Once — a tribute to legendary Mercedes C111 from the ‘60s! by AllAutoExperts | 17 April, 2020 Share : Don't hold your breath; this isn't an official Mercedes concept. This Mercedes-Benz Ciento Once represents the creation of the American tuning company GWA. It was produced in 2011, when Arturo Alonso, the owner of the tuning company, wanted to build a supercar of his own, based on the Mercedes C111 from the '60s and '70s prototypes. The above prototypes were built as representatives of the latest available technologies at that time.Ciento Once is powered by a 6 liters Mercedes engine, a V12, releasing 408 hp. The engine has a middle position, covered by a transparent glass hood. The engine works with a six-phase manual gearbox. The total weight of the concept reaches 1400 kg.The creator of the car has inspired more Mercedes models than the original C111. For example, S55 AMG provided the brakes, while the wheels have been specially created by GWA for the SLS model. The interior of the concept car almost copies the initial C111, embellishing it with modern details. The carbon-fiber seats are covered with a retro pattern, while the board imitates the classical Mercedes models.Aluminum is the main material used for the car's body, with an electrically adjustable rear wing, which considerably improves aerodynamics.
