Mercedes-AMG GT73 Could Cost $200,000 Due To Its E-Performance Hybrid
by AutoExpert | 3 March, 2021
Mercedes-AMG just confirmed that a Mercedes-AMG GT73 will be the upcoming AMG hybrid to get the high E-performance branding and everyone expects at least 800hp. The GT73 nickname is just rumored and was not yet officially confirmed. This E-performance feature is included next to the high-performance GT four-door Mercedes-AMG electric vehicles series.
The E-performance is presumably boosted by a V8 BiTurbo, or AMG’s twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 paired with a more efficient hybrid system. Also, employing hybrid powertrains is the next step for future models and the GT four-door is the upcoming electric vehicle to test it. The Mercedes GT73 is aimed as a direct opponent to the 690 hp Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.
There were no specific details for the V8 BiTurbo or the GT73’s powertrains, but it’s expected that the 630 hp twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, in conjunction with a more powerful electric motor, could deliver up to 800 hp promised along with an all-wheel-drive system. Could the hybrid vehicle reach 0-60 mph in less than 2.9 seconds?
The E-performance labels a high-performance hybrid. We’ll have more details about the next hybrid vehicle Mercedes-AMG GT73 by the end of the year. The high E-performance might uprise the model’s price up to $200,000. We're eager to know more about the official details released.
