Koenigsegg Quant - another vision of the automotive future!
by AllAutoExperts | 9 November, 2015
The aim of the project Koenigsegg Quant was to create the car of the future, which would work on a technology developed by NLV Solar, based in photovoltaic features.
Since sustainable development has become a priority for everybody, including the automotive world, the concept car has presented the possibility of working on solar energy and the FAES technology, which allows a charging time of as little as 20 minutes. The car is completely covered with a thin, transparent film, which enhances the storage properties.
The concept has a rear-wheel drive, with renewable braking technology. It also features ESP and ABS. there are two electric engines, with a variable gearbox, simplifying the constant power delivery towards the back wheels.
These two electric engines weigh 140 kg taken together, delivering 512 hp, at a 715 Nm torque. Thanks to that, Quant car reaches its first 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds. The maximum speed is 275 km/h.
The lack of the B-pillars and the gull-wing doors facilitate access into the car, for the front and back passengers.
Both companies are researching the possibility of Quant reaching production, with some possible slight modifications.
