Jeep Wrangler's Eight-Speed Transmission Upgrade Costs $4,500, But Is It Worth It?

Getting a Wrangler with an eight-speed gearbox will cost an additional $4,500. But for $4,380, you can get a brand-new eight-speed automatic gearbox from Mopar, which comes with a torque converter. But since it's on sale, the selling price right now is $3,611.20!
When you choose the automatic gearbox as a factory option, Jeep includes a few additional benefits. This includes adaptive cruise control and a selective-speed control system that functions similarly to off-road cruise control.
In comparison, the Gladiator's eight-speed automatic transmission is an optional extra that costs $2,500. It has adaptive cruise control and select-speed control, and it's $2,000 less expensive than the Wrangler.
To give you an idea of how Jeep prices its vehicles, a ten-speed automatic gearbox on a Ford Bronco only costs $1,495. How utterly absurd!
