Introducing the BYD Yuan UP: The Electric Challenger to Mercedes-Benz GLB
by AutoExpert | 5 February, 2024
Have you ever imagined a Chinese Mercedes-Benz GLB ? Here it is: the all-new electric BYD Yuan UP.
The completely electric BYD Yuan UP was divulged in a host of official images out of China, and, judging by the previous success of the Atto 3/ Yuan Plus, it has the potential to be a very strong seller for the brand.
The vehicle is part of the Dynasty lineup family, which is in plain course and adopts its Dragon Face design language. Given its quirky appearance, we expect the vehicle to rock among younger buyers.
The official Chinese specs mirror that the Yuan UP is 170 inches long, 72 inches wide, and stands 65.9 inches tall with a 103.1-inch wheelbase.
The frontal fascia is complemented by angular headlights with LED DRLs neatly incorporated within them, while the lower part sports two small air inlets.
Laterally, the Yuan UP strongly resembles the Mercedes-Benz GLB with its small rear window, roofline, short front and rear overhangs, and thick D-pillars. Other key elements worth mentioning are the black rocker panels, door handles, and black fenders.
In the rear of the vehicle, you'll find taillights with a particularly intricate signature, an LED light bar, and a silver diffuser.
Car News China declared that the BYD brand will sell the SUV with a 94 hp electric motor or a 174 hp electric motor, like the options for the BYD Dolphin.
Customers are also provided with two battery-pack options: a 32-kWh pack and a larger 45.1-kWh pack. The little one’s range varies between 187 miles and 249 miles, while the price is expected to start at 14.000 USD.
