Geely to learn three new technologies from Volvo
by AllAutoExperts | 17 December, 2012
Two years ago, the Chinese conglomerate Geely decided to bail out one of the largest automakers in northern Europe - Volvo, an important name in the premium segment, which so far has not disappointed its new owner.
But Geely wants to exploit the potential of Swedish manufacturer and tries to profit from their experience in several areas - a statement published by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group announces a technology partnership between Volvo and its owner.
Geely will take advantage of the three technologies that Volvo plans to decommission the coming years. The Swedes will give the Chinese access to a platform for the medium segment, air quality control system, and safety technologies.
This cooperation will help China increase the level of safety of their models. Also, Geely could reduce much of its production costs.
