The Chinese automaker Geely Automobile Holdings intends to launch globally this time and prepared a blasting car brand- the Zeekr - an electric vehicle aimed as the direct competitor to Tesla EVs. The new branch brand will consist of a range of vehicles built on Geely's new electric SEA platform. The delivery will happen at the end of this year in China.
Dubbed as JiKe in China, these Evs will "serve to grow the global demand for premium electric vehicles. And has a bold goal - to launch new electric vehicles yearly by 2025 included. Despite the pandemic and plenty of restriction lockdowns, Zeekr is looking forward to exploring the opportunities to deliver on the global market its premium EVs. And this the main and it's only growth plan in the next 5 years at least.
Having a global brand means plenty of investments made not only into production and delivering. It's also, about global representatives, official dealerships, auto services, and many others. These days, an electric vehicle isn't one-sided - it's also about the vehicle's "ecosystem" for an innovative approach towards sales and servicing.
It might seem that their plan is a bit fantastic, but they already sold more than 1.3 million cars in China in these three months and became the bestselling brand in the world's biggest new-car market for the fourth consecutive year. Almost 73,000 EVs were sold globally increasing its sales by 25%. So, we guess that successful sales are the ice-breaker behind the idea of going globally in full force.
Geely Holding also aimed to take part in manufacturing for other car companies, and plans for a joint venture with Chinese company Foxconn Technology Group. Apple’s main supplier is aimed to contract manufacturing for automakers. According to Geely, another partnership is possible with the Chinese tech giant Baidu who specializes in developing intelligent driving technologies, including autonomous driving.
