Galpin Motors' bb-Auto Targa Hybrid Is A Colorful Fusion Af Classic And Contemporary

Coming shortly to Monterey Car Week is an undeniably awesome design. Galpin Motors in California founded bb-Auto, a restoration business that worked on this colorful 1986 Porsche 911 Targa. The Ed Pink Racing 4.0-liter air-cooled flat-six engine produces 400 horsepower.
At the heart of the G50 five-speed manual transmission is a 110-kilowatt electric motor manufactured by Vonnen. Two powerful engines working in tandem produce an impressive 550 horsepower. Specialized Brembo six-piston brakes, adjustable sway bars and coilovers reminiscent of the 997 GT3, two-piece Fuchs wheels shod with Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires—all of this sits on top of a unique frame.
The Targa Hybrid’s interior matches its eye-catching exterior with a vibrant bright blue cloth that adorns the power seats, door panels, and dashboard. The gauges have been updated with a custom design, and electric air conditioning has been added for a modern touch. “This project is a true labor of love, blending classic Porsche heritage with our own Galpizined style,” Galpin Motors CEO Beau Boeckmann said in a statement.
“Honoring the iconic bb-Auto company and continuing its legacy with our team was our mission.” The bb-Auto Targa Hybrid will make its debut at the Werks Reunion in Monterey on Friday, August 16. Want your own? The order books are now open.
