On LinkedIn Free2Move the USA posted an image (see above) with the silhouette of the Ami along with a worming message “From France with Love.” Announcing that the car is soon coming to Washington DC.
Very soon the US customers will have the latest Citroen Ami available for car-sharing and rentals. Stellantis will make it available through its Free2Move car-sharing and rental service. European customers of the Free2Move in Europe are already enjoying the Citroen Ami. No pricing details were yet revealed but experts say that its rent price should be cheaper than the Chevrolet Cruze and Equinox also used by the rental company.
Considered by its users mostly a quadricycle by Europeans, the Ami is significantly shorter and narrower than even a Smart EQ ForTwo. With a 1,069 lbs (485 kg) weight, this little beauty is driven in and is keeping a 5.5 kWh battery pack in a single electric motor with 8 horsepower, and can reach a maximum of 28 mph (45 km/h) top speed.
The Ami has 43.5 miles (70 km) range on a single charge with 3 hours to recharge via a 220-volt socket and an optional recharge via the public terminal or a Wall Box. This beauty is already loved in Paris, Madrid, and Lisbon. Free2Move also plans to expand in Portland, Oregon.
