For The First Time In Fifty Years, Meyers Manx Has Been Updated

Meyers Manx has introduced a new, improved kit for do-it-yourself dune buggy aficionados. In the 1960s, Bruce Meyers used a VW Beetle as the basis for the first dune buggy, and the basic design hasn't altered much since 1970. This updated set modernizes the Meyers Manx in subtle ways for the first time in almost fifty years!

Meyers Manx's recently announced Remastered Kit improves upon the previous version in a number of ways, including through the inclusion of a lockable trunk, a detachable dashboard, integrated wiring tubes, and digital remastering. Customers may now select from a larger palette of colors, including solid gel coatings and metal flake finishes, each of which comes with its own UV clear coat.

Additionally, customers will now have the option to choose from a broader range of colors, which includes solid gel coats and metal flake finishes, each of which offers an added layer of protection with its included UV clear coat.

Freeman Thomas, who incorporated the updates into the original design, expressed his appreciation for the privilege of working on the Manx Dune Buggy, a vehicle that he considers an iconic piece of California cultural history. The Remastered program's objective was to maintain Bruce Meyers' unmistakable design while integrating modern touches that would allow more people to easily assemble the vehicle.

Meyers Manx chairman Phillip Sarofim stated that the 1960s epitomized the can-do attitude, from grassroots car customizers to the Space Program. They are bringing back a taste of that era with a modernized version of the original dune buggy kit, which made the assembly process more accessible.

The announcement of the new Meyers Manx Remastered Kit has already piqued the interest of RUF founder Alois Ruf, who is considering purchasing one for himself or even developing a faster version through his company.

"We've always admired the classic Meyers Manx Buggy's driving performance," he stated, "and with the introduction of the Remastered Kit, we believe it will become more accessible for a broader group of enthusiasts to build their dream cars at home."
