Covini C6W – The Supercar With Six Wheels!
by AllAutoExperts | 10 December, 2015
This radical car comes from the Italian brand Ferrucio. This concept appeared in the 70s, but because of some technical impossibilities, it wasn't possible to build it until now.
This car is cool first of all because of its rarity, and this is not because of its six wheels. We have seen six-wheeled cars before. The first of them was the Ford Seattle XXI Concept from 1963. The most famous six-wheeled car was P34 Tyrrell.
The aim of the extra pair of wheels was to ensure a better surface adherence with the ground and thus, improve the car's maneuverability, especially in curves.
The front pair of wheels ensures a higher grade of security, helping the car maintain control in crisis situations. The extra set of wheels contributes to a better brake force. Moreover, the aquaplaning risk is diminished because of the water being cleared by the front wheels.
The car's body is made out of tubular steel frame, with structural elements of carbon fiber, while the car's chassis combines the carbon fiber panels with glass fiber.
A V8 engine, with a capacity of 4.2 liters and 420 hp powers the car, offering a 470 Nm torque. The maximum speed reaches 185 mph.
The car's interior isn't as impressive as the exterior. The scissor opening doors allow accessing the car, while comfort isn't the main feature of the interior. The driver is spoiled with a variety of instruments, while the passenger doesn't even get a torpedo.
Covini C6W can be bought as a coupe and as a roadster, with a price tag that says 400 000 dollars.
