Car production: UK exceeds France!
by AllAutoExperts | 16 December, 2013
Following the first estimates of determining the ranking of European countries that gave birth to more cars last year, it was established that Germany is the incontestable leader, followed by Spain.
Thereby, the biggest battle is given for the third place, where France is about to be dethroned by Britain. It is a turnaround that has not been recorded in 1966. The English have shown a steady increase in the auto market and therefore local production.
Industry sources estimate that last year in the UK have been produced 1.55 million cars, which means a considerable difference compared to the 1.47 million produced in 2012 and 1.35 produced in 2011. However, France is experiencing a drop on the local market and massive staff reductions.
The production could not stand it any better, the trend felt in auto production, which is expected to drop to just 1.54 million in 2013 from 1.66 million in 2012 and 1.88 million in 2011. In the UK, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mini and Vauxhall brands have contributed to increased production figures. Even Bentley and Rolls Royce Even had a positive influence on developments. There cannot be overlooked Asian brands with factories in England, also responsible for increased production.
Among these are: Nissan, Toyota and Honda. Analysts say that the UK car market will continue to grow in the coming years, instead, France will continue to fall for such reasons as: overproduction, low confidence in the authorities and the decline in sales.
