Cadillac Unveils Luxurious Interior Of The Optiq Ahead Of Beijing Motor Show Debut
by AutoExpert | 15 April, 2024
Just in time for its debut at the Beijing Motor Show (April 25–May 4), Cadillac has shown the inside of the brand-new Optiq EV. The Optiq borrows features from its larger sibling, the Lyriq, including a three-spoke steering wheel, a large driver's display, and an infotainment screen housed under a single pane of glass.
Like the Lyriq, the Optiq's center console has a rotary gear selector and two cupholders. However, the lifted console of the smaller Caddy creates the illusion of floating. The sleek air vents, like those on the Lyriq, are somewhat small. There are actual temperature controls as well as an open container with lights below them.
These preliminary pictures show two possible color palettes. Harmonizing the warm saddle-colored leather upholstery with the black carpeting, dashboard, and headliner creates a sophisticated and inviting vibe. Glossy piano black or silver accents abound, and glossy wood-effect inlays adorn the center console. Meanwhile, the interior accents and light gray leather give it a bit more life.
Look closer, and you'll notice the dashboard, lower door trim, and tray under the floating console using a combination of carbon fiber-style inlays and a vibrant blue finish. Subdued blue lights illuminate the cabin, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and relaxation.
Also inside, potential buyers will find two USB-C connectors on the storage compartment's left side. First details on the Cadillac Optiq began to emerge in the Chinese market in June 2023, with claims of 201 horsepower for the base model and 241 horsepower for the top-tier version. Although rumors suggest that CATL is the supplier, the battery's capacity and range remain unannounced. More details, such as cost and availability, will likely follow shortly.
