Bid On The Rare And Powerful Lotus C-01 Motorcycle This June!
by AutoExpert | 28 May, 2024
Produced in a total of just 100 units, the Lotus C-01 stands out as one of the rarest motorcycles available. RM Sotheby's will auction off one on June 1st. This particular example is one of only a small number of C-01s supplied to North America in 2014.
Featuring stunning livery reminiscent of the John Player Special in black and gold, Group Lotus did not build the C-01.
Group Lotus instead licensed the moniker to Lotus Motorcycle, which collaborated with German racing builder Kodewa. Daniel Simon, the man behind TRON: Legacy's iconic "light cycles," created the design. If you ask us, the Lotus C-01 looks great from every aspect.
A big headlight cluster graces the front, and thick shrouds with Lotus insignia adorn the front forks. Borrowed from the KTM RC8 R, the 1,195 cc 75-degree V-twin engine forms almost the whole frame of the motorcycle. The combination of this engine and six-speed sequential gearbox produces about 200 horsepower. Meanwhile, the Lotus C-01 weighs less than 400 pounds.
The Dare to Dream Collection of Canada purchased this speed bike for approximately $140,000. Visit RM Sotheby's for more information if you're interested in bidding; we expect the item to bring $100,000 to $150,000.
