Amazing New Features, Including Semi-Autonomous Technology, Coming With 2022 Infiniti QX60

There has been almost a decade since Infiniti’s crossover didn’t get any mind-blowing update. The Monograph concept was presented back in September last year, giving some hints on what the production version might look like. And here it is!

2022 Infiniti QX60 comes with a design that fits better into Infiniti’s current line-up, being very much like the Monograph concept. The carmaker says this model is a blend of harmony, athletism, and power. Some of its main details supporting this affirmation are the muscular fenders, gaping grille, and lighting elements.

There are hints of the Japanese culture in the Digital Piano Key headlights with kimono folds, the grille mesh featuring origami, and the quilted leather interior. The exterior paint – Moonbow Blue – is itself a reminder of the summer sky in the dusk. The special paint features pigments that play in shades of purple to green.

As for the interior, it comes in a much more premium version, with soft-touch materials and sleek shapes. There is a new trim level, Autograph, that includes wood, embossed seatbacks, leather upholstery, zero-gravity ergonomically-optimized front-row seats. The latter is actually a new feature, following the spine’s curves, thus minimizing pressure. The other two rows also come with ergonomic seats. The overall comfort level is also increased due to the sound isolating materials and the climate control featuring an automatic tri-zone system.

One important thing setting 2022 Infiniti QX60 apart from the older models is the technology it comes packed with. There is 12.3-inch Dynamic Meter Display positioned at the driver’s disposal, a 12.3-inch touchscreen on the infotainment system, a 10.8-inch heads-up display, alongside capacitive climate controls with haptic feedback.

But wait, there is more! Technology is the main word for 2022 Infiniti QX60, as it comes with ProPILOT Assist semi-autonomous driving suite with Navi Link. That means you’ll get traffic sign recognition, automatic braking and steering, an enhanced auto-restart system, and others.

The new model keeps its predecessor engine – a 3.5-liter V6 generating 295 hp and 270 lb-ft torque. There is not CVT gearbox, it is replaced by a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The car thus gains a towing capacity of 6.000 lbs, which is 20% more than the current model.

The model will be available both in all and front-wheel drive. The all-wheel-drive version will come with a direct-coupling Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system, distributing 50% of the power to the rear wheels. The system also features a torque vectoring function – Active Brake Limited Slip – able to brake individual wheels and reroute torque.

North America will get the new 2022 Infiniti QX60 by the end of the year.
