300K Tesla Cars Get Recalled – The Issue Is Kind Of Critical

Bad PR is still PR, right? Tesla might agree with this since it is in the headlines most of the time. Well, this time it comes with news concerning the recall issued for Model Y and Model 3, because of a faulty cruise control system. In other words, Tesla cars speed up without the driver wanting or doing anything for it.
The statement coming from China’s State Administration for Market Regulation says that certain Model Y and Model 3 are affected by the cruise control, which starts functioning unproperly when the gear selector is accidentally bumped or when the gears are changed. There is a total of 249.855 Model 3 and Model Y cars produced in the carmaker’s Shanghai factory and 35.665 imported Model 3 units that are being recalled.
This is far from the first time Tesla is facing quality issues in China. Not so long ago, several regulatory agencies have publicly doubted the quality of EVs and the safety of self-driving technology.
Tesla has publicly apologized for this and promised to improve the quality of its cars. This comes in a pretty bad moment for the carmaker, as there is a recent investigation on the 10 deaths resulted from 30 Tesla crashes.
