2025 Chevrolet Equinox: Wider, Bolder, and Ready for Adventure
by AutoExpert | 24 January, 2024
Say hello to the new 2025 Chevrolet Equinox. The top-selling SUV features a rebranded appearance for the upgraded model, but the modifications go far beyond the exterior look our eyes were blessed with. Showcased as the next-generation model, the 2025 Equinox is a major technical refresh.
It uses a modified version of an already existing platform, which is wider by 2.3 inches and features a new rugged-themed Activ trim, among many other updates.
However, this is definitely not the first time Equinox flashed in front of our eyes. The SUV made its debut back in July 2023, in China. It receives the same bold design as Traverse and Trailblazer, with thin running lamps perched neatly atop light clusters that flank a large rectangular grille.
Further back, taillights got narrower and sharper, giving the new Equinox a decidedly provocative look; the forward-canted C-pillar is still there as an Equinox identifier.
There are some interior changes as well. As for the early-mentioned Trailblazer, Chevy offers the new Equinox a wide dual-screen setup with an 11.3-inch infotainment display and a standard-issue 11-inch driver display.
The two aren’t incorporated as a single screen; however, they are mounted together to give the Equinox a rigorously modernistic, digital greenhouse.
The car has tactile controls, including the standard-issue heated seats and climate settings. Albeit, gone is the shift stalk in the console, which was replaced by a column-mounted electronic lever.
As for available trims, Chevrolet turned out to be very generous - the company added the Chevy Safety Assist package, which includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot alert, auto emergency braking with collision alert and pedestrian/bicyclist braking. Not so long ago, many of these systems would be scattered into expensive packages.
As for the standard trim, the big news for 2025 is the new Equinox Activ.
This new ferocious theme offers 17-inch wheels wearing all-terrain tires and requisite amount of black trim with a special fascia. Inside, Active rocks Evotex material with "sueded microfiber seating surfaces."
