2024 Toyota Tundra Unveils New Features: A Glimpse at Off-Road Upgrades and Blackout Package
by AutoExpert | 24 August, 2023
Toyota continues to refine its popular full-sized truck, the Tundra, introducing new features and upgrades for the 2024 model year. While it's not a year for revolutionary changes, there's plenty to catch the eye of truck enthusiasts, especially those keen on off-roading.
The Lineup Continues
The 2024 Tundra continues with its seven trim options: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794, TRD Pro, and Capstone. Both Double Cab and CrewMax bodywork are available, with the engine options remaining consistent: a 389-hp twin-turbo V6 or a 437-hp hybridized twin-turbo V6, depending on the trim.
Nightshade Package
Adding a sleek, darkened appeal, the Nightshade trim is now available for Limited and Limited Hybrid editions. This package includes 20-inch wheels, grille, mirror caps, badging, and more, though it unfortunately won't include the bronze alloys that were found on the Camry Nightshade Edition. The package does, however, offer a variety of attractive color shades.
Off-Road Goodies
TRD Lift Kit: Back by popular demand, this factory-installed kit raises the vehicle three inches in the front and two inches in the rear, using Bilstein monotube shocks and TRD springs.
Platinum 4x4 TRD Off-Road Package: New to the 2024 lineup, this $2,500 option adds alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, an off-road suspension setup by Bilstein, and some cosmetic upgrades to enhance off-road capabilities.
New Color Option
Adding to the visual appeal is a new color option for TRD Pro models called Terra, a red-brown dark shade that contrasts sharply with the bright orange Solar Octane used previously.
Pricing
The starting price for the Tundra ranges from $39,965 for the base SR trim to a lofty $78,845 for the premium Capstone edition.
The 2024 Toyota Tundra may not break the mold, but it does continue to offer a reliable and attractive choice for full-sized truck enthusiasts. With off-road upgrades, a new blackout package, and a wide range of customization options, the Tundra is set to continue its strong presence in the market.
