Here we get a look at the new Prius ahead of its scheduled showing at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 8.  Seems some Prius enthusiasts managed to sneak a few photos.

It is obviously heavily influenced in styling by the new Mirai hydrogen fuel cell offering but keeps the earlier Prius style on the front end.

The car utilizes Toyota's new Global Architecture which is a modular platform that is lighter and stiffer with a lower center of gravity.

We don't have any specifics about the powertrain options but we hear that it will offer a smaller and more efficient unit with an improved gasoline motor and electric motors with higher power density.  They are saying it will have a 10% improvement in fuel economy.
