1984 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA 'SAFARI' Auctioned

Yesterday on a beautifully finished and tried-and-tested example, a 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera ‘Safari’ was auctioned. A collector got a masterpiece of history renewed.
Designed to be a more luxurious take on the ‘off-road 911’, this Porsche 911 Carrera ‘Safari’ could be driven to and from an adventure in comfort.
With a 3.6-liter air-cooled flat-six from a 993, the engine produces 293bhp, coupled to the earlier five-speed 915 manual transmissions with a limited-slip differential. The engine also has a custom exhaust system that is tucked up under the car, so it will not ground out or restrict approach and departure angles.
This car suffered different modifications both on the exterior, interior, and bottom to make it more accessible for today’s roads.
The car also comes with lots of history, including its original service book. Its wheels – genuine 16x7 Fuchs alloys – are shod in 215/65 R16 BFGoodrich All-Terrain ‘Baja Champion’ tires, are all in excellent condition.
In the last MOT test on 22 October 2020 the door cards 157,803 miles, with the last 16,000 miles covered in the last 14 years.
