Smartphones and appliances aren't Xiaomi's only strengths. They have created an attractive electric car, and it will be available for purchase shortly. After five months of speculation, the company's CEO, Lei Jun, has finally hinted at a possible price for the vehicle in China.
Jun expressed his desire for the Xiaomi SU7 to be the most visually appealing, user-friendly, and intelligent vehicle on the market that costs less than 500,000 yuan (~$69,000) in a recent post on Weibo. At a starting price of around half a million yuan, the SU7 will go head-to-head with the Nio ET7 sedan.
Xiaomi will begin taking orders for the SU7 and disclose the price this Thursday. The SU7 has just been made available at 76 Xiaomi locations in 29 different cities in China. Providing competitive pricing for their first automobile is vital for the Xiaomi, which has created a reputation for selling excellent-value goods in China and elsewhere.
Xiaomi's SU7 standard trim levels include a 62 mph sprint time of 5.28 seconds and a 295 horsepower and 295 lb-ft torque output from a single electric motor mounted at the back. With an 800-volt design, 101 kWh battery packs, and twin-motor configurations, the two top versions produce a whopping 664 horsepower.
