The Nissan GT-R is an unbelievably popular drag-car, but not the only Godzilla to be used heavily. In the quarter-mile scene, the older Skyline GT-Rs are equally as big. In November 2019, it established a new world record by drawing a wheelie away and it is amazing to see.
Nissan R32 has been designed in Australia by Maatouks Racing and is as tough a Skyline could be. Under the cap lies a Nissan RB26, which was expanded to 3.0 liters, and turbocharged to produce more than 1,000 horsepower (the car world called it RB30 after this).
All four corners are additionally equipped with drag radials, a special wing, and a parachute. At the end of 2019, the vehicle was able, in 6,57 seconds at 209 mph, to beat its own record in the quarter-mile for the RB30 fastest-powered automobile.
Since that video was released in November, the team has smashed the record once again, with the car achieving a 6.55-second quarter-mile at 219 mph in testing. The front wheels of the Skyline have been even more lifted during this process.
