What's New In The 2025 Audi S3 Sports Car? Enhanced Throttle Response, Dynamic Torque Splitter, And More
by AutoExpert | 9 April, 2024
With the 2025 model year mid-cycle makeover, the Audi S3 sports car gains more horsepower and torque. An upgraded turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine producing 328 horsepower and about 310 pound-feet of torque will power the 2025 Audi S3. Up 22 horsepower and 15 pound-feet, the 2025 Audi S3 is now more powerful than the Golf R, which has 315 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.
All the way down to the lower-performance variant, the RS3's rear torque splitter finds its way. Thanks to this innovation, the technique allows for completely adjustable torque distribution to the back wheels.
With the help of the recently-added Dynamic Plus mode, the vehicle will transfer maximum torque to the rear axle, making for an exhilarating ride. When using the sportiest settings, the S3 suddenly oversteers. Meanwhile, engineers have made the 2.0 TFSI engine's throttle response even more direct and increased the idle speed to 1,300 rpm (an increase of 200 rpm) for improved off-the-line performance.
Further improvements include shorter gear ratios, later upshifts, and earlier downshifts in the new S3, all in an effort to keep the engine revving at a higher level, allowing for more power to be available. Faster than the 2024 S3 by 0.1 second, it can go from zero to sixty miles per hour in 4.4 seconds. The maximum speed is still 155 miles per hour. Along with larger front brakes with perforated discs and updated two-piston calipers, the 19-inch wheels now come with 235/35 Falken performance tires.
To further enhance the 2025 Audi S3's handling, the carmaker is installing an upgraded electronic stability control system and more rigid wishbone suspension bearings. The four-door version is still exclusive to the US, but the five-door Sportback is getting a facelift in Europe. Likewise, the S3 has undergone a few minor cosmetic tweaks. It comes with four different types of configurable LED daytime running lights that you may access via the infotainment system.
There are four new colors available for the taillights—Ascari Blue, District Green, Arkona White, and Progressive Red—and each one changes animation when you lock or unlock the vehicle. Owners can expect to pay more for a steering wheel with a flat bottom. Meanwhile, the 2025MY sports LED contour lighting in the cup holders and center console. Additionally, the illuminated front door cloth panel has undergone 300 laser-cuts. We don't yet have pricing information.
