Volvo Polestar common Cyan Racing announced that it plans to launch in the World Touring Car Championship (FIA World Touring Car Championship) with two new Volvo S60 Polestar Racer.
The decision comes after the anniversary of 30 years from the date when Volvo won the European championship title in the European Touring Car Championship (1985). Now the Swedes start a new era in the motorsport chapter. So far few details are known about the racing Volvos, except that they are equipped with a four-cylinder engine, turbo-aspirated, developing around 400 horsepower.
Polestar officials have recently said in an interview that the FIA WTCC chose the platform because the technologies developed here can and will be implemented later in the car. But "weapons" available today from Swedish company perfectly fit the requirements and needs of motorsport.
