The new compact MPV of the German brand will become the most efficient car in its segment with the commercial debut this summer.
Presented at the Geneva Motor Show, the monocab in Wolfsburg announces an average consumption of 3.6 liters for the version 1.6 TDI BlueMotion to 110 hp. Compared to the standard version, the model has a low ground clearance by 15 millimeters, a roof spoiler, a new grille, special underbody panels and a different configuration for cooling.
VW TDI BlueMotion version will offer Sportsvan's Golf Trendline and Comfortline in equipping the company. As with any version of a Volkswagen BlueMotion, the Golf Sportsvan comes with a set of alloy wheels with bespoke design, low rolling resistance tires and modifications applied to the motoring efficiency.
The changes brought on body a drag aerodynamic coefficient of 0.27. For the added efficiency, the standard model has a kinetic energy recovery system lost during braking, a six-speed manual transmission optimized for low power consumption and Start-Stop system.
