TVR Griffith Electric Sports Car To Be Delivered In 2024
by AutoExpert | 27 April, 2022
To join the Ford V8-powered coupe, a totally electric TVR Griffith Electric Sports derivative has been announced for a 2024 introduction. The company's intention to sponsor the Monaco and London E-Prix, which will take place on April 30 and July 30-31, was also unexpected.
This surprise move comes after a mid-November 2021 contract with Ensorcia Metals, a South American lithium mining business. Further details remain unknown, but TVR chairman Les Edgar told earlier this month that the gasoline-fueled vehicle will begin deliveries in the fourth quarter of 2023.
TVR Griffith premiered at the 2017 Goodwood Revival with a 5.0-liter Coyote engine producing 493 horsepower and a six-speed manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels. The sports coupe was built using Gordon Murray Design's iStream method and claimed to weigh less than 2,756 pounds with a 50:50 weight distribution.
TVR predicted a 0-60 mph time of approximately 4 seconds and a max speed of over 200 mph in terms of performance. With 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels, the two-seater had double-wishbone suspension on both axles. Currently, TVR is taking £5,000 ($6,356) deposits for the Launch Edition, of which only 500 will be built.
