You won't believe what YouTuber Dino DC stumbled upon during his visit to a shop in Osaka, Japan—a track-ready Mazda 3! He even had the chance to chat with the proud owner, Taisuke Kawato.
The Mazda3 is currently undergoing some serious modifications for none other than the renowned New Zealand drifter, Mad Mike. This beast of a machine boasts a rotary engine that packs a punch, delivering a jaw-dropping 1,400 horsepower.
The racer is equipped with a powerful four-rotor Wankel engine and a top-of-the-line Garrett G40 twin-turbo setup. Kawato-san has taken measures to ensure the engine's reliability by capping its horsepower at 1,000. This will prevent any potential overheating issues and ensure a smooth ride.
The Mazda3 underwent further transformation, with a switch to rear-wheel drive and the addition of top-of-the-line Toyo tires, sleek forged wheels from Volk Racing, a high-performance fueling system from Radium Engineering, and some seriously impressive aero kits at the rear.
As you take a peek inside, your eyes will be drawn to the Bride carbon racing seat, the impressive Haltech ECU system, and the sturdy roll cage. In a bold move, the second-row seats were swapped out for a top-of-the-line radiator from renowned Australian specialist PWR. Get ready for an adrenaline-fueled ride as the mighty four-rotor RWD Mazda 3 gears up to take on the challenging terrain of the 2023 Pikes Peak Race on June 25th.
