Hyundai Sparks A New Era In India's Last-Mile Mobility
by AutoExpert | 29 January, 2025
Hyundai is stepping into India’s last-mile transport scene with some fresh ideas. Partnering with TVS Motor Company, they’ve revealed two concept EVs designed for urban mobility: a modern twist on the classic three-wheeler and a compact four-wheeler.
The electric three-wheeler stands out with a retro-modern vibe. It’s got an adjustable body height to tackle rough roads and floods—perfect for India’s unpredictable weather. Up front, there’s a diagonal windshield, sleek LED headlights, and a screen that can display custom messages.
Bigger wheels and a towing hook add practicality, while thoughtful touches like a small display and phone holder make it driver-friendly. Moreover, Hyundai is currently testing heat-resistant paint for the roof and water-repellent interior materials to enhance ride comfort regardless of the weather conditions.
The four-wheeler concept keeps the same design DNA but adds an extra front seat, hinting at broader potential. Hyundai plans to produce the three-wheeler with TVS, while the four-wheeler is still being evaluated for possible global markets.
SangYup Lee, Hyundai’s design head, said it best: "We're reimagining the iconic three-wheeler to enhance mobility experiences through thoughtful design." While details about the powertrains are under wraps, these concepts show Hyundai’s creative approach to transforming urban transport.
