MOUNTAIN GREEN - The Utah Highway Patrol has released the names of the two men who died following a rollover on Trappers Loop Highway on Wednesday.
The two men were Scott M. Egbert, 19, of Ogden and Wyatt Kelsey, 20, of Layton.
Egbert was dead at the scene, troopers said. Kelsey was flown by helicopter to McKay-Dee Hospital in extremely critical condition and died later.
Both men were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the red Mazda 3, which was traveling at a high rate of speed, troopers said.
Kelsey was driving the car southbound on the Morgan County side of the highway at 11:56 p.m. Wednesday when it rolled, ejecting two of the five occupants, troopers said.
The other three occupants suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital by ambulance. Troopers said two of those three were juveniles.
Excessive speed was a factor in the crash, troopers said.
State Road 167 was closed until 4 a.m. while the accident was investigated and the wreckage cleared.
