Toyota Trailhunter Concept Teases An Upcoming Overlanding-Oriented Trim
by AutoExpert | 2 November, 2022
Toyota Trailhunter concept, based on the Tundra, is a sneak peek at a future trim level for pickups and SUVs that are tailored for overlanding. This line will be "purpose-built" to meet the needs of adventurers.
The vehicle includes a heavy-duty front bumper with a brush bar, integrated recovery hooks, and auxiliary lighting; however, Toyota didn't specify much beyond that. A steel rear bumper, roof-mounted light bar, and tent-equipped bed rack all work together.
Trailhunter-specific suspension and skid plates have been added to the concept. In addition, there is a fridge for overland journeys. Toyota claims that their Trailhunter vehicles will be highly capable, purpose-built overlanding rigs that are adventure-ready right out of the factory, offering a trail-ready truck with parts and accessories that enable a remote off-the-grid experience.
While many details remain unknown, we do know that Toyota wants the Trailhunter to be a flagship product, which may place it above the TRD and TRD Pro models. More information on the Toyota Trailhunter line will be made available by the company next year.
