by AutoExpert | 7 September, 2023
Subaru Levorg has been on the scene since 2014. The first-generation model was initially accessible in a few European locations, while the latest variant, which debuted in 2020, is available in New Zealand as the WRX GT Wagon and in Australia as the WRX Sportwagon.
Now, there's a new kid on the block called the Levorg Layback, and for now, it's only available in Japan. This Layback version is essentially the same wagon with some lifted suspension and added plastic cladding for a rugged look.
The new stance gives it a ground clearance of 7.9 inches, which is 2.2 inches more than the previous model. In terms of size, itsmeasuresg 187.8 inches in length, 71.7 inches in width, and 61.8 inches in height. That's an increase of 0.6 inches in length, 1 inch in width, and 2.8 inches in height compared to the regular Levorg. The 2024 Levorg Layback also comes equipped with the latest EyeSight system, complete with a wide-angle camera as standard.
It rolls on 18-inch wheels with 225/55 R18 all-season tires, giving it an adventurous look. Under the hood, a turbocharged 1.8-liter gasoline engine pumps out 174 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. This power is sent to all four wheels through a CVT Lineartronic transmission.
Depending on the market, you can also get the Levorg with a larger 2.4-liter turbocharged engine, delivering a more robust 256 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. This engine also pairs with a CVT transmission, sending power to both axles.
Inside, it boasts a Harman Kardon sound system, an impressive 11.6-inch infotainment screen, and a 12.3-inch digital driver's display. Owners also have the convenience of remotely controlling the AC to pre-condition the interior via a smartphone app.
In Japan, Subaru offers the Levorg as an STI Sport model with a sportier body kit and some mechanical enhancements. Earlier this year, Subaru also unveiled a limited-edition STI Sport Performance variant, restricted to just 500 units.
