The Rugged Peak Edition Is Coming To The Volkswagen Tiguan
by AutoExpert | 4 August, 2023
A recent trademark application for the name "Tiguan Peak Edition" suggests that Volkswagen is planning to introduce a more rugged variant of the 2024 Tiguan. Taking cues from the Atlas Peak Edition, which received a refresh for the 2024 model year, it is anticipated that the Tiguan Peak Edition will feature some of the same upgrades.
Comparing the Tiguan Peak Edition to the Atlas Peak Edition, it is probable that the performance specifications of the engine will remain unchanged.
The steady 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine should retain its power, driving an eight-speed automatic transmission with 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. In addition, purchasers can anticipate all-wheel drive as a standard offering.
Volkswagen traditionally offers the Atlas Peak Edition in two specification levels: SE with Technology and SEL Premium. These cost approximately $3,000 and $2,000 more than the basic model, respectively. Although pricing information for the Tiguan Peak Edition is currently unavailable, it is reasonable to anticipate a tiered structure.
It is important to note that a new Tiguan is already in the works. Although Europe will receive the official Riguan, the U.S. version will be based on the larger Tayron, a successful model in China.
