With the debut of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class All-Terrain in 2022, Mercedes-Benz has expanded its line of sturdy estate vehicles, following the example of the bigger E-Class All-Terrain. The C-Class All-Terrain is distinguished from a standard C-Class Estate by a variety of off-road-inspired components.
It sports a distinctive front grille, front and back skid plates, and flared wheel arches, for instance, and gives 1.5 inches (40 mm) of more ground clearance. The All-Terrain is somewhat bigger than the Estate, spanning 0.15 inches (4 mm) longer and seating 0.8 inches (21 mm) broader thanks to the additional body components.
The German manufacturer has created a unique range of 17 to 19-inch wheel designs for the All-Terrain, with varied polished metal embellishments as all versions are established on the Avantgarde external trim level. High-gloss black trim is used on the B-pillars and bars of the backside windows, and buyers may choose for the Night Package, which adds even more high-gloss black highlights.
Mercedes-Benz has increased the ride height and added slightly bigger steering knuckles to the four-link main suspension. The vehicle also has two new Dynamic Select driving styles: Offroad and Offroad+ with hill-descent control or Downhill Speed Regulation as Mercedes defines it.
2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class All-Terrain has also been changed to improve its towing capabilities. As an illustration, as an additional option, it may be equipped with a partly electronic trailer hitch, swiveling ball-head, and ESP trailer stabilizing system. A trailer maneuvering assistance is also offered, which helps with low-speed handling by automatically regulating the steering angle of the towing vehicle at accelerates to 3.1 mph (5 km/h). It has a towing capacity of 1,800 kg (3,968 lbs).
The 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system, which can send up to 45% of power to the front wheels and 55 percent to the back wheel, comes standard on all C-Class All-Terrain versions. The automobile comes with two motors: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine with an incorporated starter-generator and a 48V electrical system, or a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine with an inbuilt starter-generator and a 48V electrical system.
2022 C-Class All-Terrain will be unveiled to the public at Mercedes-forthcoming Benz's International Motor Show in Munich next month. The automobile will not be sold in the United States, and the price in Europe has yet to be determined.
