The Coolest Ford GT Prototype For Sale

Given it was made in 2003 but it is the prototype CP-1 of the first GT ever built. Ford GT Prototype CP-1 is listed for sale at Exotic Classics in New York.

This particular vehicle with VIN 004 was the first prototype to be equipped with drivetrain and interior. Previous 3 units were just the bodies of GT. Moreover, CP-1 was signed by Caroll Shelby and Bill Ford and other members of the original GT team.

There are elements on this prototype that were dropped before production such as mustang airbags, Windstar steering, silver trim rings, aluminum headliner and a carbon fiber rear engine cover that didn’t make production because it raised the price too much. So instead of the carbon fiber cover, production cars were equipped with aluminum engine cover.

All of these unique touches and elements that cant be found anywhere else, are surely going to push the price up high.
